Gloucester County Tea Party
Meeting Minutes, April 25, 2012
Washington Township
The meeting was opened by Rose Wakemen leading the group in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Frank Solis lead the meeting with a brief prayer.
This was followed by Franks address to the meeting. He cited misinformation in the news. Frank then provided the outlines of recently passed and pending legislations. A hand out was provided. Items cited included:
· Restricted Buildings Act, this is considered a violation of ‘Freedom of Speech’, enforcement can restrict attendance at town meetings
· HR=3643,S-1981,No budget – No Pay
· S.1848 - United Nations Transparency, Accountability, and Reform Act of 2011,Proposed by Senator Marc Rubio. Directs the President to use U.S. influence at the United Nations (U.N.) on a variety of issues including; to shift the funding mechanism for the regular budget of the U.N. from an assessed to a voluntary basis, reign in billions of tax-dollars that fund the United Nation’s rampant waste and corruption. It is urged you contact Senators Menendez and Lautenberg and Reps. Andrews and LoBiondo, and urge them to support and sponsor.
· F/R1179 & S 1467HR 1179 and S. 1467 - Respect for Rights of Conscience Act Amends the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) to permit a health plan to decline coverage of specific items and services that are contrary to the religious beliefs of the sponsor, issuer, or other entity offering the plan or the purchaser or beneficiary (in the case of individual coverage) without penalty. Attendees are urged to Contact Senators Menendez, and Lautenberg, and Representative Andrews urging them to support and sponsor. Thank Rep. LoBiondo for his sponsorship and support.
· Also cited was that NJ Judge refused to rule on the eligibility of Barack Obama to be placed, or rejected from the NJ election ballot. Judge claimed the decision is the auspices of Lt. Governor or NJ Attorney General.
Gregory Horton, candidate for the House of Representatives from the NJ 1st District addressed the meeting. He pledged term limits, balanced budget, congressional enrolment in Social Security, and cited his ‘South Jersey’ roots, employment history and his decision to run based on a friend’ advice during a political discussion: “- do something about it”. Mr. Horton will kick off his campaign on April 26 at the Indian King Tavern in Haddonfield, NJ. Horton requested support through volunteering, spreading the word and, or financially.
Bill Mc Clernan addressed the meeting and urged the monitoring of polls on Election Day and work as challengers to prevent voter fraud. The Board of Elections Phone number is 856 384 4500
Rose Wakemen urged you tune in to Seth Grossman’s Program, at 8:00AM Saturday Morning radio program, from Vineland, NJ on 92.1 FM station WVLT.
Super Saturday: was discussed by Jerry Keer and recommended white shirts and sun protection for volunteers. Rose Wakemen circulated buttons for volunteers to ware and a selection was popularly agreed.
Bill Mc Clernan called attention to the Tea Party Patriots tweeting to offices of offices of elected officials rather than telephoning since the tweet goes to the officials attention rather than staff members.
Rob Andrews was invited but did not attend or provide representation.
Our 501.3.c application remains tabled.
The web site will be issued for comments.
The Tea Party will register with the National Tea Party.
A suggestion or idea was requested on the subject of persuaded younger voters to understand the dire straits our country is facing.
There is an AMERICANS FOR PROSPERITY meeting at the GEETS Diner on May 30, 2012. Arrive early for attendance at 7:00 PM.
Next meeting will be June 27 2012, at Virtua Meeting room.
Following the meeting a discussion was held regarding the Party’s structure as we go forward. The six will meet at Jerry Keer’s home on Saturday, June 23 at 11: 00 AM.
