Are Negotiation a good path, or just more words?

Should we win before negotiations? The U S defeated England for peace. Sweden has not had a war in the last two hundred years after Sweden won over Norway and Denmark (1814).  Is the current Russian invasion of Ukraine, about territory or ideology? The answer matters little with the loss of life, family sorrow, and destruction. Why did Russia decide to steal a nation? If negotiated Russia will be back! Ronald Reagan on the Cold War negotiations was famous for; “---we win they lose”. Russia lost in the Cold War, but is back repeating their desires.

In 1945 we unleashed the weapon to end the biggest conflict the world had ever seen. That weapon’s threat somehow negotiated and avoided until now, the ‘big war’. In 1948 negotiations, North and South Korea were formed by the American and Russian negotiations. A few years later we became engaged in a conflict to save the Freedom of South Korea from North Korea (Russia).  Where are we in the Middle East in the days since 9/11?  We continue to be hated as infidels. What did we accomplish? The risk with negotiations is someone fails to taste victory / defeat, or learn. There is the risk of their next generation when the problem returns un-resolved in someone’s mind.

We searched World Order through; the League of Nations, United Nations, NATO, SEATO.  If we negotiate for Ukraine, years later Russia will be back to seize again. What would a Ukraine negotiated settlement obtain? A win for Ukraine, and defeat of Russia could be an absolute necessity. When war ends by negotiation, somewhere, somehow, possibly a table is set for future conflict. Seems we have tried for 70 years to negotiate “World Peace”. Just ask A Miss America Contestant. Who will negotiate for the world? Not Brandon!
