What does it mean? We are in an age with counts or statistics
for more definitions or meanings well beyond what I imagined when in grade. High
school or college. We know how many people in the United States are employed in
various industries. We have counts by ethnicity, sex, race, marital status and
the counts go on through industries, whether private or government. Name a
category and there is a statistic or count.
According to some count there is 158,000,000 people
employed in the U S. The Federal Government employs 1,464,000. Of that count
there are 198,000 working for Homeland Security, and another 118,000 working
for the Justice Department. We just heard that there will be 80,000 people
hired for the Department of Revenue.
Like mold in a damp basement the growth goes on.
