Afraid to Stand Alone, Even on his Own Knees

The last time Governor Romney ran for president, he advised his Republican supporters to stop supporting "capitalism" and start supporting "consumerism."

Dallas columnist Earl Lively wrote: "Afraid to stand alone, even on his own knees, Governor Romney then tells the rest of us that we do not know the definition of capitalism; we do not understand our economic principles, and we'd be better off if we'd quit going around defending such an unpopular concept as capitalism."

Of course, Mr. Lively was speaking of George Romney, Mitt's father, candidate for the 1968 Republican nomination.  But the fruit didn't fall far from the tree.

Does anyone remember anything Mitt Romney stood up for in 2012?

Anything

Of course, according to George Romney, President Obama has been a huge success, with the debt per full-time worker in the US increasing by $84,266 as of December, 2014. Talk about consumption.

Of course if you're wondering where your new car is, a lot of EPA departments have new tanks and SWAT teams.  If you are wondering where your swanky new digs are, they're at the offices of Solyndra, or a shiny new skyscraper for the IRS in Washington.

And if you want to know where all your fancy vacations are, you can look at the $44,351,777.12 President Obama has spent for you on personal travel through July, 2014.

Well, it looks like Mitt Romney won't be standing up for anything again in the 2016 elections.  He's announced today he is dropping out of contention.  At least whether he's on his knees or not he won't be standing in the way of a principled candidate who's not just trying to win a seat in the Oval Office and his portrait on the wall by appearing non-threatening.

Dejavu all over again

Yes we saw it before. In 2008 the economy dropped, collapsed, you name it. Now after being a cause of the 2008 collapse Fannie Mae is hitting us in the Fanny one more time. They needed a bail out of 185 Billion, Now they are spending 180 Million for new offices, and they are back to the failed lending of yesteryear.

Federal Spending: Given half-trillion-dollar deficits, this is supposed to be an era of belt-tightening for governmental agencies. But you wouldn't know it from the fat-and-happy spending by some of them.

Fannie Mae and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, for example, have both announced they're moving on up into glitzy new downtown Washington, D.C., office buildings costing taxpayers hundreds of millions.

Fannie Mae, the government-sponsored enterprise that insures home mortgages, is relocating into luxurious new offices near the K Street lobbyist district. The move will cost at least $180 million in relocation and the premium rent payments.

Isn't this the same Fannie Mae that along with its sister organization, Freddie Mac, required $185 billion in taxpayer bailout funds during the housing meltdown?

This stunning act of arrogance just five years after it took taxpayers to the cleaners should hasten
Congress into action in terms of severing Fannie's umbilical chord to the federal Treasury.
The "new" Fannie Mae announced late last year it will return to its old bag of tricks of offering taxpayer guarantees on mortgages with down payments as low as 3%. This is exactly the flimflam lending policy that created the 2006-08 housing bubble in the first place.

Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., has been investigating ways to rein in this rogue agency, and isn't happy about the expensive new digs. Fannie's lease is for "what appears to be very expensive real estate," he told the Washington Post, adding: "We've tried to press for some level of cost-benefit analysis. We have not gotten it."

Not to be outdone, the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau — the controversial agency created by the Dodd-Frank banking bill and pushed by Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass. — is spending $215 million to "renovate" its office building.

The white elephant project, which was first reported by Watchdog.org, will cost more per square foot than a five-star resort in Las Vegas. It has elegant glass staircases and a water wall with a splash pool.
Will there be a spa, hot tubs and a penthouse-level night club? Just asking.

The inspector general's office has thrown a penalty flag, saying the expenditures are "not in accordance with the agency's current policies for major investment." The IG also protested that there may not be a "sound business case" to "support the funding of the renovation."

The irony of the CFPB's extravagance is obviously lost on its director, Richard Cordray, an Obama acolyte who rails against the lifestyles of the richest 1%. He dismisses as "ridiculous" the "notion we are building some kind of palace."

The CFPB is supposed to be a watchdog agency that protects the interests of consumers and taxpayers. It levels fines on banks and other financial institutions for shady practices. The watchdog is hardly leading by example.

SOME RESEARCH

Being proud of who we are and where we came from!

Republicans, and Tea Party have been accused of racism:

Over the years there have been political claims that opponents are racist. The epithets have mostly been made about Republicans by Democrats and Liberal Media, which includes the printed press and the spoken words on radio and television. Even as recent as George W. Bush was likened to Hitler, but when the remarks were made about Obama – yes it was racist.

The Tea Party is a conservative group of people who sprang from the Republicans and independent conservatives. They organized because of concerns regarding our Federal Government’s involvement into our personal lives and the effect on our ideas of freedom.

There was an incident after the first congressional election of Obama’s incumbency when new members of congress, on their way to the Capitol, were claimed to have been spat on by Tea Party members. A sizeable reward for proof was offered and never collected.

The Tea Party membership has been essentially Republicans and Libertarians who felt it was time to become more vocal in their opinions and desires for governance of our country as established by the Declaration of Independence, and the Constitution as amended. The significant event causing the Tea Party incorporation was the Democrat efforts regarding legislation toward their Affordable Care Act, as inspired by their choice for President, Barack Obama.
Taking a look at the political party that gave birth to the majority of the Tea Party membership. It is time to reflect on the United States History and the thrust of Republicans to overcome the racism existing in our Country.

The Republican Party has had a history replete with pro-civil rights, anti-racism efforts and campaigns that was at odds with the major parts of the Democrat Party. The history began with the birth of the Republican Party and continued from the time of the Civil War and Abraham Lincoln through and to today. During the 1950’s and 1960’s the Democrat Representatives and Senators were less likely to vote for civil rights legislations and which Democrats where prone to filibuster. Varying in degrees from the rainbow of the 1950’s until today the conservatives have fostered integration, civil rights, fair voting, and policies that attempt to treat all citizens justly regardless of ethnicity, male or female, religion, or racial makeup.

Relevant History:
The First Hispanic Governor was a Republican, in 1863, Romualdo Pacheco of CA. Pacheco entered politics in the 1850s, and his party affiliation changed over time; he started as a Democrat but took a stand against slavery and switched to the National Union Party. He eventually ran as a Republican.
1865, Republicans freed the slaves, Republicans passed the 13th Amendment unanimously – against nearly unanimous Democrat opposition
1866, Republicans passed 14th Amendment to defend African-Americans from their Democrat oppressors in the post-Civil War South.
1869, the Republican-controlled 40th Congress passed the 15th Amendment, extending to African-Americans the right to vote. Nearly all Democrats in Congress voted against the 15th Amendment. The 15th Amendment was ratified the following year, but using intimidation, poll taxes, registration fraud, and literacy tests Democrats prevented most African-Americans from voting for nearly a century.
1870, First African-American Senator was a Republican, in North Carolina, Hiram Reve[JK1] ls.
1871, Civil Rights Act effectively banned the Klan and enabled Republican officials to arrest hundreds of Klansmen. The KKK did not rise again until the Democratic administration of President Woodrow Wilson.
1875, Republicans passed the Civil Rights Act that banned racial discrimination in public accommodations. Though struck down by the Supreme Court eight years later, the 1875 Civil Rights Act would be reborn as the 1964 Civil Rights Act.
1878, Republicans gave woman the right to vote. In 1878, U.S. Senator Aaron Sargent (R-CA) introduced in Congress the proposed 19th Amendment, according women the right to vote. Over the next four decades, it was primarily the Democrats who would oppose the measure. Not until 1919, after the Republican Party won majorities in the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives, did Congress approve what would become the 19th Amendment.
1884, John R. Lynch, a Former Slave, Chaired the 1884 Republican National Convention,
1906, Republican President, Theodore Roosevelt, appointed the First Jewish Cabinet Secretary, Secretary of Commerce and Labor, Oscar Solomon Straus.
1918, Octaviano Larrazolo of New Mexico, was elected Governor, becoming the second Hispanic to serve in this role since the territory became a state in 1912. Larrazolo’s narrow victory, however, seemed to quiet most of the debate about whether he could authentically advocate on behalf of the Spanish-speaking population. During Larrazolo's governorship, tax reform measures were sanctioned and a state board of health was established. Improvements were also initiated to assist New Mexico's Latino population. Larrazolo advocated for bilingual education and supported the civil rights of Mexican immigrants in the state. He was also a supporter of the women's suffrage amendment to the United States constitution.

1924, Republican President Calvin Coolidge signed the Indian Citizenship Act, granting citizenship to all Native Americans. The law had been written by Rep. Homer Snyder (R-NY)
1926, Bertha Landes, a Republican, was the first woman to serve as mayor of a large American City, Seattle Washington.
1940, Republican National Convention approved a plank in its platform calling for racial integration of the armed forces. Not until 1948 did President Truman finally comply with the Republicans' demands for racial justice in the U.S. Military.
In 1957 our President Dwight David Eisenhower (R), sent troops to Little Rock Arkansas to enforce integration as stipulated in Ike’s Executive Order 10730. The enforcement enabled nine African American Students to attend Little Rock Central High School in compliance with the Supreme Court’s decision in Brown vs Topeka Kansas Board of Education.
1959, The First Asian-American U.S. Senator was a Republican, Hiram Fong of Hawaii where he served for eighteen years.
1962, Judge Tuttle, a Republican, in 1962, ordered the University of Mississippi to admit its first African-American student, James Meredith.
The Civil Rights Act of 1964 was a focal point. It was arguably the most important of the many civil rights bills passed in the middle part of the 20th century. It outlawed many types of racial and sexual discrimination, including access to hotels, restaurants, and theatres. When we look at the party vote in both houses of Congress, it fits the historical pattern of Republicans vs Democrats:
80% of Republican Congressman and Senators voted for the bill. Less than 70% of Democrats vote in favour of the Bill. Republican Minority Leader Everett Dirksen led the fight to end the filibuster of Richard Russell of Georgia and Strom Thurmond of South Carolina tried as hard as they could to sustain a filibuster.
1965, The Voting Rights Act was introduced in Congress on March 17, 1965 as S. 1564, and it was jointly sponsored by Senate Majority Leader Mike Mansfield (D-MT) and Senate Minority Leader Everett Dirksen (R-IL), both of whom had worked with Attorney General Katzenbach to draft the bill's language. Although Democrats held two-thirds of the seats in both chambers of Congress after the 1964 Senate elections,[14]:49 Johnson worried that Southern Democrats would filibuster the legislation, and therefore he enlisted Dirksen to help gain Republican support. Dirksen did not originally intend to support voting rights legislation so soon after supporting the Civil Rights Act of 1964, but he expressed willingness to accept "revolutionary" legislation after learning about the police violence against marchers in Selma on Bloody Sunday. Given Dirksen's key role in helping Katzenbach draft the legislation, it became known informally as the "Dirksen Bach" bill.  After Mansfield and Dirksen introduced the bill, 64 additional Senators agreed to cosponsor.
RICHARD M. NIXON
President Nixon (R), who lost election to Kennedy in 1960 had strongly supported civil rights as Vice President to Dwight David Eisenhower. Nixon as President directed his Labor Secretary to require Federal Contractors to enforce affirmative action programs.
GERALD R FORD:
Georgia Tech was visiting Ann Arbor for a game against the Wolverines, but would only play on the condition that Michigan's lone African-American player, Willis Ward, not be allowed to play. Ward was Ford's roommate on road trips. "Jerry Ford was incensed that the University of Michigan would dare to bench one of their other star players and his good friend," says Ward's grandson, Buzz Thomas, a former Michigan state senator. "So Ford went to the coaching staff and said that if Willis Ward doesn't play, I will not play. Ultimately, Ford did play in the game, — at Willis Ward's request.
2003, After 911, under Bush leadership, the U.S. military, together with forces from Britain and other allies, destroyed terrorist camps and ousted the Taliban, liberating 27 million people from Taliban oppression, including giving girls the opportunity to attend school and giving women the right to vote. Leadership has since failed.
1954, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that racial segregation in public schools is unconstitutional. The author of Brown v. Board of Education was a Republican, Chief Justice Earl Warren.
1967, Republicans Passed the 1957 Civil Rights Act against the filibustering democrats. The GOP improved upon this landmark legislation with the 1960 Civil Rights Act.
20 Things Republicans have done for Blacks.
Whether you’re a Republican, libertarian, right-winger, etc, at some point someone has called you racist. So these 20 things the GOP has done for African-Americans is a good defense against that insidious R-charge. The list by the way came from a Black Republican.
I’m going to name some things that the Republicans have done to help blacks.
1. Republicans passed the 13 Amendment, which ended slavery.
2. Republicans passed the 14th Amendment, which made black people citizens.
3. Republicans passed the 15th Amendment, which gave black people the right to vote.
4. Republicans started Howard University for blacks. (White Republican Oliver Howard started Howard University)
5. Republicans started Spelman College for blacks. (White Republican John D Rockefeller put up the money to build Spelman college, and in return that college was named after his wife Laura Spelman Rockefeller)
6. Republicans passed the Civil Rights Act of 1866, which gave blacks the right to buy and own property.
7. Republicans passed the Civil Rights Act of 1871, to protect blacks from the Ku Klux Klan
8. Republicans passed the Civil Rights Act of 1875, which gave blacks the right to serve on a Jury
9. Republicans passed the Civil Rights Act of 1957
10. Republicans passed the Civil Rights Act of 1960
11. Republican president Dwight Eisenhower sent in the Federal troops to escort black kids to school in Arkansas, this is known as the Little Rock 9.
12. Republicans created 40 Acres and a Mule for blacks—-Republican (Thaddeus Stevens) created a bill saying that black people should get 40 acres and a mule.
13. Most Republicans voted in favor of the Civil Rights Act of 1964

JANUARY 28 MEETING

This meeting will be informative regarding the "Fair Tax"

We all have strong feelings in regard to taxation. Spread the word and bring a friend. Somehow our country's dangerous financial situation must be resolved. If we were to payoff our country's national debt at the rate of one million dollars an hour or twenty-four million dollars a day($24,000,000), a seventeen trillion dollar debt ($17,000,000,000,000,000)would require one thousand-nine-hundred-forty-years to pay off. This is simplified calculation without paying the interest. Choose your preferred interest rate and the time line just about doubles.

Tell your friends we need leadership and a new approach to government.

What a Great Idea!

It would be great if we could get all Candidates to sign on.

Tax Reform: Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, a possible Republican presidential candidate in 2016, might have hit on the most important fiscal issue facing the U.S.: the need for major tax reform. But he takes it a step further.

Speaking Monday, the senator from Texas threw another thunderbolt: Republicans should use their control of Congress to get rid of the Internal Revenue Service.
"We need to pass fundamental tax reform making our tax code simpler, flatter, fairer," he told a crowd at a Heritage Foundation event. "And I'll tell you, the single most important tax reform, we should abolish the IRS."

It's not as radical as it sounds.

In recent years, the IRS has become overtly political, or "weaponized," as Cruz puts it. The IRS scandal, in which it "slow-walked" applications by Tea Party and other conservative groups to deny them nontax status during the 2012 presidential race, is but one example.

Its 110,000-person workforce has become a silent army working on behalf of progressive causes.

That, in itself, is bad enough. But as the Americans for Tax Reform point out in a recent blog post on their website, unless his agency gets more money, "IRS Commissioner John Koskinen has threatened delayed refunds, long call-wait times, the specter of identity theft, and now, no-show days for IRS employees."
In short, it's a dysfunctional agency that's lost its way.

The easiest way to get rid of the IRS, as Cruz suggests, is fundamental tax reform. But there are many other great reasons for reforming the code.

For one, the U.S. tax code has become so unfair, so complex, so burdensome and so costly that we have nothing to lose by changing it radically.

In a report to Congress in 2013, National Taxpayer Advocate Nina Olson told Congress that America's tax code now runs to well over 70,000 pages, with more than 30 million words — about 38 times larger than the King James Bible.

Individual taxpayers and businesses spend 6.1 billion hours each year filling out their taxes and complying with its laws — the equivalent of three million full-time employees working for a year.

Since 2001, there have been nearly 5,000 changes in the tax code — about one a day. No individual can keep up with it all. And all that complexity isn't free: It costs us $170 billion annually to fill out our taxes. Enough.

We've said before: we support a flatter, fairer tax, with lower taxes for all, paid for by spending cuts — not new taxes like the recent "bipartisan" gasoline tax hike.
Even basic tax reform, say economists, would be a winner. Just this week, a new study by the National Association of Manufacturers estimated that if tax reform were passed, over 10 years "the economy would grow by more than $12 trillion relative to Congressional Budget Office projections, investment would increase by more than $3.3 trillion and the economy would add 6.5 million jobs." Other studies find similarly large gains.

Today, our tax code resembles more a Rube Goldberg device than an efficient system for raising money to fund the necessary operations of our government. By all means, we should reform it. And while we're at it, as Cruz suggests, why not get rid of the IRS?

Obama Golfs as France Burns

Well, no actually.  Obama wasn't getting in his 200th round of golf today.  He was in Idaho promising something about free community college and his plans to control the internet.  And it wasn't Rome, but France that is on fire, with a tenth of that nation in the streets protesting yet another attack on Western values by the followers of the murderer, thief, child-molester and madman known as Muhammad.

Forty world leaders were in Paris today,
from as broad a spectrum as Benjamin Netanyahu,
to the more-leftist-than-Islamist Mahmoud Abbas of the West Bank.

But, like the dictators of China, Russia, Cuba, Venezuela, North Korea, Iran, and Saudi Arabia, our president stayed away.

Just think of how many people Barack Hussein Obama missed the opportunity to apologize and bow to!  And even Vladimir Putin at least sent an underling.  (Eric Holder was actually in Paris today, by the way. But he stayed away from the public on purpose.) More people took to the streets in Paris today than when they were liberated from the Nazis, Fox News

"At least 3.7 million people including more than 40 world leaders are marching throughout France on Sunday in a rally of national unity to honor the 17 victims of a three-day terror spree that took place around the French capital.

"The French Interior Ministry said the rally for unity against terrorism is the largest demonstration in France's history, more than the numbers who took to Paris streets when the Allies liberated the city from the Nazis in World War II."

To paraphrase Michelle Obama, "Not for the first time in my adult lifetime, am I really ashamed of my president."

A Damn Good Question

If any one thing needs fixing in our society, this would have to be on the top of my list. I will never understand how illegal entrants and couch dwellers on welfare are provided a better life than those who have sacrificed their bodies in defense of our freedoms.

Why does private charity have to take care of our wounded warriors? Every time I see a commercial asking for donations, I wonder why the government these people fought for is not taking care of their every need.

When will the failed philosophies of Socialism just go away.

Pope Francis Better Socialist Prime Minister Than Pope

Dennis Prager
Dennis Prager
One of the rarest and most important things a pope does is issue encyclicals. In the eight years of Benedict's papacy, he issued three. In the 27 years of John Paul II's papacy, he issued 14. Since his ascendancy to the papacy in March 2013, Francis has issued one.

But Pope Francis is about to issue an encyclical to the world's 5,000 bishops and 400,000 priests that tells us a great deal about him, about Latin America and, most of all, about the influence of what has been the most dynamic religion in the world for the last hundred years.
Hint: It isn't Christianity or Islam.

This year, the pope will use an immense amount of papal moral influence to address global warming, or as it is now called, in light of the small amount of warming actually taking place, climate change.

In a few weeks, he will visit the Philippine city of Tacloban, which was devastated by the supertyphoon Haiyan in 2012. Then he will present his encyclical, and in September he will address the United Nations General Assembly on the subject. He will do all of this in order to influence the December 2015 international Climate Change Conference in Paris.

The world's left is ecstatic with this pope. As the Guardian reported:
"In recent months, the pope has argued for a radical new financial and economic system to avoid human inequality and ecological devastation. In October he told a meeting ... 'An economic system centered on the god of money needs to plunder nature to sustain the frenetic rhythm of consumption that is inherent to it.

"'The system continues unchanged, since what dominates are the dynamics of an economy and a finance that are lacking in ethics. It is no longer man who commands, but money. Cash commands.

"'The monopolizing of lands, deforestation, the appropriation of water, inadequate agro-toxics are some of the evils that tear man from the land of his birth. Climate change, the loss of biodiversity and deforestation are already showing their devastating effects in the great cataclysms we witness," he said.

"The god of money needs to plunder nature." "Cash commands." "(Ecological) evils that tear man from the land of his birth."

That is left-wing, even radical left-wing, language. How are we to explain this?

How are we to explain that at the very moment the oldest Christian communities in the world are being violently destroyed, that while Christians are murdered, raped and tortured in Africa and the Middle East, and while horrific barbarities are committed daily in the name of God, the pope issues an encyclical and travels around the world to talk about climate change?

It is happening because leftism has taken over much of Catholicism, most of mainstream Protestantism, increasing numbers of evangelicals and most of non-Orthodox Judaism. Not to mention the secular worlds of the news media, entertainment media and academia.

It is happening because the default philosophic, moral and political position in Latin America is leftism. Support for big government and the redistribution of income, and condemnation of capitalism and corporate profits — these are givens in Latin America. And Pope Francis is Latin American to the core.

His leftism was the primary reason why he worked so diligently to get the U.S. to normalize relations with the Castro brothers in Cuba — instead of using his moral authority to condemn a brutal tyranny that has crushed and impoverished the Cuban people for 55 years.

Sen. Marco Rubio, a practicing Catholic, put it succinctly: "I would also ask His Holiness to take up the cause of freedom and democracy."

In the long run, leftism will bring down the Church — just as it has mainstream Protestantism and non-Orthodox Judaism — as well as diminish decency on earth.

It is, moreover, clear that the pope has been so influenced by leftism that he appears to know only the propaganda, not the science. For example, the typhoon in the Philippines had nothing to do with global warming. The leading science journal, Nature, wrote as much:

"Did climate change cause Typhoon Haiyan? There is limited evidence that warming oceans could make superstorms more likely."

Defenders of Pope Francis note that Pope Benedict, too, spoke eloquently about man's obligations to protect nature. That is true. And it is irrelevant.

First, he issued no encyclical on the issue; his encyclicals were, like almost every papal encyclical, non-political. Second, everyone knows that we have an obligation to care for the planet. But caring for the planet has as much to do with left-wing environmentalism as protecting workers had to do with communism.

By all accounts, Pope Francis is a wonderful man. Conservatives understand that good people can hold left-wing positions. If only bad people held left-wing positions, leftism wouldn't be the world's most dynamic religion.

Unfortunately, however, being a wonderful person doesn't mean that you will be a wonderful pope. Any Catholic who tweets, "Inequality is the root of social evil," as Pope Francis did last March, should be a socialist prime minister, not a Christian leader.

The moral message of every Bible-based religion is the root of evil is caused by poor character and poor moral choices, not by economics. The pope's tweet is from Marx, not Moses.

An I B D editorial about Eleizabeth Warren The American Indian

Elizabeth Warren Says Economy Is Rigged Against Middle Class

Thu, Jan 08 2015 00:00:00 E 00_WEB
Is the economy rigged against the middle class? The Democratic left's dream candidate -- Sen. Elizabeth Warren -- thinks so.
"I see evidence everywhere of the pounding working people are taking," Warren said on Wednesday at an AFL-CIO summit on raising wages. "These families are working harder than ever, but they can't get ahead. Many feel that the game is rigged against them, and they are right. The game is rigged against them."
Her argument, of course, is that the government must intervene to level the playing field.
But Warren must not be looking very hard if she can't see that the free market is rigged in favor of working families, not against them.
As economist Mark Perry loves to point out on his Carpe Diem blog, market competition has dramatically driven down the cost of the goods and services we buy, while vastly improving their quality.
In a recent post, for example, he shows how the efficiency of today's appliances is as much as 217% greater than what was available in 1981, which "translate into significant energy cost savings for American households."
Better still, these appliances cost less than they did in 1981, especially when measured in "time cost" -- or how many hours the average worker would need to work to buy one.
A 1981 dishwasher would have required 48.5 hours of work to buy, Perry calculates. A comparable dishwasher today requires just 17 hours of work. That's a 65% drop in price for an appliance which is more than twice as efficient.
"Thanks to advances in technology and worker productivity," Perry explains, "American consumers get cheaper and better manufactured goods (appliances, cars, clothing, food, and household furnishings) year after year, which translates into a higher standard of living for all Americans, especially for lower and middle-income households."
Does this look like a rigged game to you?
If anything, the parts of the economy that are rigged against working families are those where government has intruded the most.
As IBD pointed out recently, the states with the highest levels of income inequality also tend to be the most left-wing. Even the liberal Brookings Institution concluded that San Francisco is the second most unequal city in the country.
Study after study has found that overregulation increases costs, kills jobs and stifles innovation. And it's always the middle class that bears the brunt of these adverse side effects.
It's worth noting, too, that it has been under President Obama's tax-and-regulate economic policies -- most of which Warren heartily supports -- that middle-class incomes fell, millions quit looking for work, and millions more sank into poverty.
Advocating a bigger dose of the poison is no way to cure the patient.

Rand Paul Said:

The following was published in the Investors Business Daily. The quote of Rand Paul deserves some of our deepest thought.

Old-line Republicans tend to regard Sen. Rand Paul as some sort of madman. But the Kentucky Republican often says the things they should be saying, but seem to have forgotten. For instance, he's made the suggestion that we give freedom a try.

While being interviewed on Fox News by Greta Van Susteren, Paul told her "we could try freedom for a while" when she asked what Republicans would do if they actually succeeded in repealing ObamaCare.

"We had it for a long time," he said. "That's where you sell something and I agree to buy it because I like it. That is how we operate in most of the rest of the marketplace, other than health care."

It's also how we should operate in many other domains. We could try to exercise more freedom in our speech, energy markets, financial markets, commerce, and firearms ownership. We should be free of the regulatory state, Washington's administrative regime and its grasping hands, snooping federal agents, and government's ever-widening reach at all levels.

This isn't radical thinking.

It's a return to the ideal the country was founded on: each one of us is due the God-given freedom we have at birth and no one can take it away. The GOP needs more voices like Paul's.

Happy New Year Common Core Warriors, Monday, January 5th, is Opt-Out day.

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year celebration and spent much needed time together with family and friends.  However, the time has come to take back our education system.  Monday, January 5th, is Opt-Out day.   Have you filled out your forms?  Please be sure to make a copy for your records, since we know the school just may have a problem keeping them in one place.  Also, clearly sign, date and hand deliver to your school principal or officer in charge.  If you wish, add your own note, however, I don’t recommend changing the verbiage on the form.  Please drop me a line to let me know you filed your form.  I look forward to hearing from you.

God Bless you and your families.  He has blessed your children with caring and loving parents.

Approaching ten years of Planning ?

Approaching ten years of Planning since; Remington and Vernick’s September 2005
“Washington Square Redevelopment Study”

Approaching ten years since the Remington and Vernick's September 2005 “Washington Square Redevelopment Study Area”, and the project has become a problem to the citizens of Washington Township. The study identified to the Planning Board redevelopment that could produce employment and tax rateables for income to Washington Township. What is a problem might be that we call the Board; Planning Board. Graphic projections in the ‘Study’ concerning Township population, Income, and other economic measures, were not and have not been realized.
The Study resulted in the current controversial plan of ‘Washington Square‘, located next to the Virtua Health Center on Hurffville-Cross Keys Road. It proposes a mixed-use development of apartments, 100,000 square feet of office space and retail space, and a PILOT (Payment in lieu of taxes).
November 19, 2007, then Democrat Mayor Paul Moriarty, and Town Council Democrats of Lyons, Fratalli, Martin, Mc Dowel, and Timmons, adopted from the Democrat appointees of the Planning Board, the Washington Square Project for the Township as a PLAN.
In 2008, the developer, the Atkins Group, proposed the construction of a soccer field and other niceties, while negotiations ensued.
On February 23, 2011, the 'Washington Square PILOT' was adopted by the Township Council.
April 2012, the plan Atkins Group proposed and requested a 20 year PILOT duration.
After negotiations on July 10, 2013, the Ordinance (14-2013), failed a Council vote.
December 10, 2014, despite predictions by professional experts that the courts will enforce the agreement with a thirty year PILOT, It failed again.
Newly elected Council for 2015 faces a thirty year PILOT project. The battle to date has cost thousands in tax dollars with more costs to be consumed by a 2015 court decision.
School District concerns of student population growth, revenue, and the Fire District revenue needs have developed oppositions. Departing Councilman Chris Del Borrello suggested a referendum of the voters. Will the project provide the forecasts in the 2005 preliminary study? What will the impact be on School and Fire Districts? What about the current business properties that are vacant? Is this planning?
As the line in the movie ‘Blazing Saddles’; “We don’t need no steenk’n badges” (PILOT).
