GID YOUR STATE PURCHAS BETTER VOTING MACHINES?

Before the internet, credit cards, bank deposits were safer than today. People’s internet accounts are hacked. TV program fictitious hackers and sleuths or agents solve entry to any computer. Watching the recent NJ voting process using computerized tablets, one must wonder if hackers will access NJ’s system? Trump voters continue to believe the vote was ‘stolen’. Could that be possible? What is scary is that the former signature book per district is gone and districts might become relics. Where multiple districts are resided at a polling place the time-honored District Number is the lesser of importance. In the Township of Washington, Gloucester County, where multiple polling locations were open, voters gained a pass to any district table and any voting machine within that location after the following became evident. A voter was told by his district’s workers he was not listed, and he would need to vote via provisional ballot. The voter objected strongly. During the confusion a district’s poll worker found the computer tablets were related to a different polling location. The voter was directed to another table within the polling location where his name appeared. The process was changed to register at any table of poll workers within the Polling Location and processed regardless of their district, if they were of a district within the polling location. How safe is a computer network? Next year, will you need to have an “app” that shows you are a voter? But that would be Voter ID. What did N J accomplish and what did it cost us? This 2021 method seemed about as safe but no simpler than the old three step; book, ticket, voting machine. Security of a mail in ballot scares me. You buy a new machine it’s better, or was it?
