An idea has been floated for states to be responsible for Infrastructure. Question include; who will control or be responsible for Interstate Highways and structures? When the work is bid what will the contract controls be? On highways that are toll roads will someone finally awaken and provide more exits which would access area to avoid congestion in the location of the long established exists, as well as access to US highways and major state high ways, but do not provide entrances at the auxiliary exits? eg; The NJ turnpike should have exits to NJ 42, or US 30, without entrances to the same. Compare the Turnpike to the parallel, I-295. Maybe California Highways could have tolls, to pay the cost, I must assk what is the cost of the massive beltway around Washington DC
With respect to entertainment or Sports facilities, it is questioned should Teams or corporations put up a greater share or spend the monies? Not cities or states. Per Google,The City of Arlington provided over $325 million (including interest) in bonds as funding, and Jones covered any cost overruns. Also, the NFL provided the Cowboys with an additional $150 million loan, following its policy for facilitating financing for the construction of new stadiums.
The recovery of dollars for bonds is a long standing weight on municipalities. Of course they usually are Tax free bonds. Cost overruns drive up Bond Costs with lower or weaker credit ratings on Municipalities.
Cost overruns are a typical problem. Look at NJ, The $$$$$$$$$ Met Life Company.
The Channel Tunnel, CHUNNEL, cost?
NJ has PILOT, or Payment in Lieu of Taxes. As a senior citizen what will the return on taxes in 25 years? To see a return a 65 year old would need to last to 90------.
