Our nation is divided. Parts are the political divisions, Republican
or Democrat or the Political Parties that were not part of the Constitution. There is nothing in the Constitution that
provides for today’s groups including opinionated News. The Constitution sets none against the other.
The human frailty of the likes or
dislikes for the others stem from allegiances to families, schools,
neighborhoods, cities, the binders of our ideas. Problems come when choices are
made. The intent of the Constitution was
to provide dialogues, discussions, agreements to govern. The Constitution
provided for Congress, Executive, with the Supreme Court as mediator. Our current problems started in early
nineteenth century when Political parties became larger and more divisive over
significant opinions. Businesses were
major concerns as far back as the fur trade.
Our problematic relationships with Native Americans were very early. Not the only problem, was slavery. Race relations progressed, yet not resolved
through Republican sponsored Amendments Laws, actions, yet residual problems
exist.
The organization of the House of Representatives and the Senate set up a
choice of leadership wherein party pluralities of one group chose leadership
positions. This provided more strength
to the political parties which grew in strength. The eventual alignment of political parties
toward liberal and conservative ideas, since the Civil War, helped to set up
today’s racist allegiances as well as placations by political parties which evolved
and sustained the divisions of Americans; by race, groups of workers against
business, News media in favor of candidates. Our problems are human nature, which does not
like freedom of speech by the others. The
unbridled attacks on our president know no bounds. It is common to refer to persons holding
political office as "The Honorable." From what I've witnessed
from those opposing the President are anything but honorable. Cardinal John
Henry Newman wrote, “It is almost a definition of a gentleman to say he is one
who never inflicts pain." You should add ‘gentlewoman’. Today’s inflictors
are; Pelosi, Schumer, Government Employees, Military hierarchy, elected Republicans,
against Trump and conservatives.
