Where has Smerconish gone?

On Sunday, November 9, 2014 Michael Smerconish wrote how the newly elected Republican Senate and the standing Republican House will need to compromise with President Obama. Smerconish is the columnist who spoke conservatively in the early 2000’s. Then twice endorsed Obama for President. Where was Smerconish for the nearly seven years while Obama and his party refused to negotiate or compromise? The President appointed ambassadors, and department heads, which have weakened the American position in the world politics. Smerconish abandoned conservative views and avoided confronting the opinions and actions of Obama. Smerconish claimed Obama was correct where we should fight terrorists. He should have asked Obama to take a Reagan like stance against the sources of threats to American interests. Obama seems to have ignored our security and intelligence organizations concerning ISIS.
The Republican Congress should be as stiff as necessary so that Obama negotiates, if he has a good position. All should agree to cautious correct steps to correct the not so affordable health care plan and mitigate its flaws.
Our immigration policy must be shaped to accept candidate citizens that have no criminal records and are represented here by endorsing native born or naturalized citizens of proven standing. Walking in, or getting off ships and airplanes, without control is not immigration. If anything, it is invasion of the work force, welfare, education, and medical systems. Executive Fiats, beyond the constraints of our Constitution he must be reined in by the Congress as well as the judicial.
Obama must be true to his pledge of openness, and honesty. The IRS must be constrained. The Departments must answer Benghazi, and Fast and Furious. The offices of our government agencies are not to be allowed executive regulations without Congressional approval. No more shut down of coal industry or raid or musical instrument factories because they use rare woods are examples of un-restrained government. Build the Keystone Pipeline with non=government funding. We must have Congress, President, and Justice.
