Two Gloucester County road-ways have a systematic work-day affliction, of stop and go. Stop for a light then accelerate only to stop for the next red light. With computerization light could be timed so reasonable mph speeds would facilitate greater traffic flow in the direction of the flow in the morning and evenings. In a jammed city like Philadelphia the one-way traffic on Chestnut Street from Cobbs Creek Parkway (63rd street) to center city (15th Street) lights were timed at 20 mph. One could travel three to four miles while seldom catching a stop light. If that was accomplished in the 50’s and 60’s what the hell is wrong with New Jersey? Maybe a few mpg would be saved by hundreds of motorists each workday.
