Governor elect Phil Murphy, and two New Jersey
Senators, complained to one another for an hour long phone conversation, about the pending
Republican income tax law. Two NJ senators that have been sitting in Congress for
quite a while and showed continued allegiance to Barack Obama’s taxation
approach yet have witnessed a year’s GDP and employment growth under Newly
Elected President Trump. A growth that is directly opposite to the last eight
years of Obama. When did either Senator or their predecessors pose solutions
for the Federal income tax or out control Federal Budget? When did the
Democrats of Congress in the Previous eight years attempt to pass legislation
favorable to the GDP.
In NJ, in 1974 an income tax was
started to repair our school funding problem. Today we pay most of our property
tax for the school funding. Our property taxes are among the highest in the
nation. Of the last seven elected NJ governors,
four were Democrats and three were Republicans. None of these have fixed the
property tax or school funding problems. Look at the term of our astute
Senators and their predecessors. Every election, Democrats and Republicans of
their Party’s mold, acknowledge the NJ taxation curse. They all increase
spending and taxation.
Democrats Brendan Byrne, James
Florio, James McGreevy, Jon Corzine; and Republicans Thomas Kean, Christine
Whitman, and Chris Christie, have not solved the State’s high taxation,
funding, or property tax disease. Look closely at the State’s Assembly and
Senate, where there is very little difference.
When households review their
financial problems they chose to cut or delay spending. I guess, our NJ voters
do not understand when they elect the people who are just like them.
I'm certain New Yorker's and Californian's are of the same ilk.
