Why this deal is bad?
- Increases
discretionary spending
- Increases
revenue by increasing fees (essentially a tax increase)
- Assumes
deficit reduction at the end of the 10 year budget window (which means it
will never happen)
- Removes
the Budget Point of Order which allows for the Senate to send tax
increases to the House with a simple majority, rather than a 60 vote
threshold
