Do not lose sight of GHW Bush's failure

Looking at 2018 leaves the impression that must be rewritten. The talking heads, the Democrat in-crowd, and the never Trump Republicans ,told us only one side of George HW Bush. Yes, they told us how he many times served our country. During the Second World War he flew his fighter plane against an enemy that at the start had the better airplanes. What they did not tell was his allegiance to the Swamp Dwellers. Prior to becoming President Bush (senior) spent many year in the Washington government organizations. He learned how to get along to get along. Make deals regardless of the full package; cross the aisle.

As Vice President he aligned himself with the denizens that crafted the NAFTA Treaty for Clinton’s only too happy signature. Bush Started his term in office by throwing out the Reagan team on the first day of Bush’s term. Small wonder the D’s had so many nice things to eulogize Poppa Bush. Bush selected the advisor and Budget Director, Richard G. Darman. Darman, was the whisper behind the violation of the “No new Taxes Pledge”.

Bush allowed Perot to be the wedge that played to the conservatives and lead to the arrival of Slick Willie Clinton. NAFTA is gone now Thank you Mr. Trump.

The Senate and the cost of Immigration Wall

The government’s non-essential workers are on a non-paid vacation until the standoff is resolved. The resolution would be simple if there was a majority vote in the Senate, instead of the sixty vote majority. The other side of the coin is that the filibuster breaking sixty vote majority is not part of the Constitution. If Obama and Schumer wanted barrier border security then why are they lying by their current opposition?

These two items are not the final answer. The stalemate is because the Democrats hate President Trump. The opposition exists regardless that several years ago they, Schumer and Obama, were in favor of border security that included fences, or barriers, or walls. 

Many well to do members of Congress lock their doors, have property fences, and is the rumor that Pelosi has a wall truthful?

Put 5 Billion Dollars in perspective. It is .0230% of the Fed Deficit. If you have a taxable income of $60,000 .0230% is about $13.82. Less that the monthly cost of an internet home security system. How many billion is spent for annual health care of migrants?

Stephen Moore: Don't Listen To The Recession Myth

There's an old saying that Wall Street economists have predicted eight of the last two recessions. The bears in the economics profession keep getting paid a lot of money misreading the nation's economic weather vanes — whether it was the power and durability of the Reagan expansion in the 1980s, the ferocious bull market of the late 1990s, the after-effects of the 9/11 attacks, or most recently the phenomenal revival of growth in President Donald Trump's first years in office.

Most of Wall Street's top economic gurus thought Trump would crash the stock market and the world economy, and here we are with near 4% growth over the past six months and a prediction for the year of close to 3.5%. That's not a crash. A stopped clock is right twice a day, but the Keynesians on Wall Street are hardly any better than that.

All of this is to say the recent frightening claims by Goldman Sachs chief economist Jan Hatzius and other scribes that the economy is likely to slide into recession or a serious skid next year with growth of 1.6% to 1.8% — half our current pace — should be greeted with a collective yawn.

The Keynesian Mistake

Sure, the economy may slip into a recession by 2020. Who knows? The growth rate is cooling down from its blistering 4% pace of late. But the last people investors or employers should be listening to are the professional pessimists. Most of these forecasters are relying on a purely Keynesian analysis of the economy and are basing their gloom on the idea of the "sugar high" of the tax cuts and government spending hikes wearing off next year.

Re write of Constitution - No Way

Depending on the news cycle we heard of the need for a Constitution Convention. Before we bow to that idea we must consider the risk. Our Constitution has endured, and survived for two hundred forty years, or about two hundred thirty five year since the ten amendment Bill of Rights was added. Before such a drastic step of rewriting is taken, think about the Constitution which has no provision for Political Parties. There have been Democrats, Democrat Republicans, Republicans, Communist, and Tax-Revolt; close to twenty if you wish to count. Looking at the current register of minds in our Nation almost every one of our Citizens, (Professors, Theologians, Philosophers, and or Politicians) have been tainted, corrupted, by liberal and philosophical ideas.

Before attempting we need two generations of purified minds untouched by the current political philosophies. Which person, or assembly should be allowed into a convention? Politicians are never mentioned in the Constitution, and should be excluded. Entities must be restricted wisely. Current news media and college professors have become the King’s court feared in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. Keep; “the United States of America … one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
