Allows certain students including undocumented immigrants who meet certain criteria to qualify for in-State tuition at public institutions of higher education and State financial aid.
If you voted yes for Instate Tuition for
Illegal aliens you have betrayed the Citizens and legal residents of this State
Definition.
Betrayal is the
violation of an expressed or perceived trust by a person or persons with whom a
person relies upon for some aspect of his or her life. You have lost our trust.
No where in this bill,
do you thank in advance, the hardworking citizens of New Jersey for financing in state tuition
and for giving State financial aid to families who have broken our immigration
laws and rules. Yes rules. Rules like you have in your Committee hearings.
As when a citizen
offends a chairman, while he is exercising his 1st Amendment right to petition
the government, he will be bodily removed by armed State Police.
When will you
understand that the State Police should be instructed to remove illegal aliens
when they break the rules? A broken system will be fixed by enforcement.
And nowhere in this
bill do you mention the intention of the State to enforce our immigration laws
in the future to see to it that only people who have been vetted and deemed
safe to enter our country are allowed to be here.
Countries have borders and immigration laws
for very good reasons
All of the nineteen hijackers on 911 were in this country illegally in one way or another and between them they had 65 different state drivers licenses.
We would not be
talking about this if all the families of the children that you want us to provide
educational support for had gotten in line with other legal immigrants who came
into this country and were vetted as safe people.
Finally, granting illegal aliens in-state tuition rates is also unfair to foreign students lawfully present on student visas. These students, who lack permanent resident status, are required to pay non-resident tuition rates. What kind of message does it send to these students who play by the rules that they must pay higher tuition rates than their compatriots who cheat the system? Some students might be tempted to overstay their visas to receive the tuition break.

New Jersey should implement policies that
reward those who abide by our laws, not those who break them.
