To the Editor Elliot,
You and your staff continually amaze me, you write in your
editorial today “South Jersey needs to get to know Booker. Booker needs to get
to know South Jersey.” My question is, why did your Editorial Staff ‘endorse’
Cory Booker for the U.S. Senate if he doesn’t know your readers or took the time
to meet with them, the people that buy your newspaper?
How many campaign stops did Cory Booker make in the 8
southern New Jersey Counties during the 60 day election process, One? And that
was the debate, or should I say ‘Democratic talking points opportunity’ at Rowan
University. Did Mr. Booker really tell us what he was physically going to do
other than mimic our President when he was a U.S. Senator and vote ‘Present’ on
most bills that came up for a vote, same practice he used in the Illinois Start
Legislature? Or will he criticize the President for raising the borrowing limit
like Senator O’Bama did under the George Bush Presidency calling it
‘irresponsible government worthy of impeachment’? I think not, he’ll praise him
for being bold!
Bringing both sides together, is that a Senators job or the
Party’s Leader like Senators Harry Reid or Mitch McConnell? Maybe even the
Presidents, which he never attempts to do, only call those who oppose his wild
unconstitutional directives and spending his ‘ enemies’ and not the
’opponents’. Is that Presidential?
At least Steve Lonegan made many appearances in South Jersey,
more here than Cory Booker made throughout the entire State, maybe that’s why
Lonegan’s vote tally was higher, he showed South Jersey he really wanted to go
to the Nation’s Capital and be a legislature and work to control this out of
control Administrations budgeting and bungling, something your Editorial Staff
should report more of! Wishful thinking?
