It didn't take more than a week for Speaker Boehner to betray the shutdown, and offer Obama a six week victory in terms of a "temporary" increase in the debt ceiling. (Boehner offers six week spending spree)What exactly does "temporary" mean? Does the debt ceiling go back down again after six weeks? Of course not. That money is spent forever, and the interest will grow like a cancer.
If the proposal is to raise the debt ceiling by a certain amount, it will be spent before Obama's signature on the bill is dry. If the proposal is to allow whatever amount of borrowing will happen during six weeks, we will see the biggest hog slopping since the "stimuluses" that began the Obama regime.
It is beyond asking you to call your representative. Use your First Amendment rights. Go to your nearest national park. (No tours of Valley Forge, just tickets.) Support the truck rally in Washington this weekend. (Truckers ride for the Constitution.) Celebrate mass with a serviceman. (Obama to arrest priests for celebrating mass.) Start a blog. Knock on your neighbors' doors. Don't take this sitting down.
